The clients in this case knew exactly what they wanted. For us, that posed a bit of a challenge, as we had to meet their goals perfectly, while providing architectural excellence.
Our first challenge was to create a hallway that connects the front to the back of the house, without having it look like a long corridor. We achieved that by making the hallway wider, in order to break the corridor look. We also gave it one big square skylight and four additional rectangular ones, so now there is tremendous amount of light in this space. It came with an additional bonus of being able to see the sunset through the skylights from the living room.
We loved how they insisted on the open space concept with maximum glass, so we gave them a 20’8” high open floor plan at the back of the house. That way we were able to introduce a loft in the project, so now they have a cozy space up there, with views on both sides of the house.
